The Reports | Wired for Learning

The Full Report

Your child’s Full Report offers tailored learning strategies, stress prevention techniques, engaging movement exercises, and personalised teaching methods. Easy to apply, these strategies aim to improve their learning skills, boost confidence, and create an enriching learning environment.

Their Profile

Their Full Report is like a personal guide for you, them, and anyone else helping them learn. Every aspect of this report has been designed with the aim of making the learning process more intuitive and effective for them. So whether you’re a parent, tutor, or mentor, this guide provides invaluable insights to support and enhance your child’s educational experience.

Brain Dominances

Learning engages the whole brain, but individual dominance in the left or right brain affects how information is processed. Understand your child’s unique learning preferences with our dominance assessment.

Brain-Body Dominances

Uncover your child’s natural strengths and areas that may need attention by identifying their brain and body dominances. Learn how tailored teaching techniques are designed to work to their advantage.

Stress

Your child’s Dominance Profile helps identify learning, testing, and communication styles that might stress or disengage them. When a child experiences stress in the classroom, it can reduce whole-brain activity, resulting in a temporary reliance only on their dominant profile.

The Full Report provides this insight, along with multiple techniques, exercises, and methods to prevent or manage such events.

Personalised Learning

Explore techniques tailored to your child’s natural preferences. These strategies in the Full Report promote a deeper understanding of their unique learning style, empowering them to become more confident and successful learners.

Personalised Learning

The techniques recommended and tailored according to your child’s profile are versatile, simple to adapt, and can be seamlessly integrated at home, school, or in other learning scenarios. By starting with just one or two techniques and gradually incorporating more, your child will gain control over their learning experience, enhancing their confidence and independence in learning.

Manage Stress

Every individual responds to stress uniquely, as indicated by our profiles. The reports highlight how stress affects your child within a learning context. Recognising these stress signs will enable your child to identify when they’re not in an optimal learning state.

Targeted Exercises

Specially chosen Brain Gym© exercises, tailored to your child’s dominance profile, put them in control of their learning state. Each report includes three exercises designed to enhance focus, reduce stress, and foster optimal learning. Whether incorporated into daily routines or used during challenging tasks, these exercises swiftly recalibrate both mind and body for improved learning.

Celebrating Every Child and Student’s Way of Learning

Our dominance test isn’t about grading a learner’s academic ability or intelligence.

Our test identifies and celebrates their natural inclinations, biases and preferences for learning, and the teaching styles that complement them.

About Brain Dominances

Our cortex or ‘smart brain’ is divided into two hemispheres. Each hemisphere perceiving, processing and making sense of information it receives in different ways.

About Brain Dominances

The left hemisphere is more linear, logical and analytical preferring repetition and structure and goal orientated. The right hemisphere is more ‘big picture’, intuitive, spatial and non-verbal, preferring novelty and self discovery.

About Brain Dominances

We use both hemispheres for most tasks, but as each of us is more dominant in one brain hemisphere than the other, we each have a stronger preference towards processing information according to that dominance.

About Brain Dominances

This doesn’t mean we are either creative or scientific. It’s about how we approach tasks, how we process the information. We can be a left brain artist or a right brain mathematician, and vice-versa. It’s about our approach and how we prefer to engage.

Learning Is Not All In Our Head

Our natural biases and inclinations become more distinct when we factor in our how we take in and express motor and sensory information from our left or right dominant hand, eye, ear and foot. Yes, we each have a dominant eye, ear, hand, foot and brain hemisphere!

How It All Connects

The sensory and motor information from the right eye, ear, hand and foot is primarily processed and
interpreted in the left hemisphere. This gives us a left brain bias towards making sense of the information coming in, and how we communicate it back. And of course vice-versa.

How It All Connects

Although the plasticity of the brain means it’s very adapt at re-organising itself and use different areas to take on tasks and operate with a new reference point. We still seem to retain our basal, or default setting. We are adaptable, and flexible but it seems that we always retain a hardwired preference.

32 Distinctive Profiles.

Based on the ground breaking work of Dr. Carla Hannaford these five combined dominances give us a profile.

There are 32 different profiles, each distinctive with its own characteristics. The profile is the insight we use to identify your child’s naturally wired preference towards learning and receiving instruction in their preferred and distinctive way.

Stress And The Brain

High stress and trauma re-direct significant amounts of electrical activity, blood and oxygen from our cortex (smart brain) to our emotional and survival centres of the brain. This results in a fight, flight or freeze response. The process is known as Cortical inhibition.

Take the test

Stress Affects Each of Us Differently - All According to Our Profile

When we experience lower levels of stress, such as the stress of new learning, or of finding things difficult, or not getting something quickly, a similar process to cortical inhibition occurs. At these times electrical activity, blood and oxygen is reduced from the non-dominant hemisphere to support the dominant hemisphere.

When this happens we experience a ‘switched off state’, and only consciously process the motor and sensory information from the eye, ear, hand and foot feeding into the dominant hemisphere.

Taking the Stress out of Learning

Your child or student’s report will not only give you and them the insight into the effects of stress on their profile, but practical, easy to apply techniques and strategies to reduce stress, and specific movement exercises to help them reset and return to a ‘switched on’ state.

Use one, some or all of the suggestions and recommendations to support them and see them thrive, and engage with their learning.
